Finally some good news to come out of 2020...Towson's Recher Theater is making a comeback!
The Baltimore Business Journal broke the news that the venue will be opening their doors back up....but with a new name: Recher 2.0.
The venue launched a new Facebook page under the Recher 2.0 title and after posting a simple "we're baaack" post, their comments were flooded with people saying things like "My favorite venue😍," "Yes! Let's show these youngins what it's like to have a real Recher Theatre Rockin!" and "Let’s. Go.👏🏻🤘🏻🔥"
The plan is still labeled to be in it's "infancy" but owner Brian Recher shared that ideally they would like to re-open in the fall given everything be cleared due to the COVID-19 crisis.
"Whatever it is, it is," he said. "We have to protect everybody."
Recher also shared that the venue, which took the name Torrent Nightclub in 2017, will undergo some renovations including "putting the stage back in and getting new sound equipment, including microphones and stands."
