Bomb Squad Confiscates Launch Tube At BWI Airport

FOX45 has reported that at approx. 5:20 AM on August 1, a second inert launch tube was confiscated by Office of the State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad at BWI Airport. The launch tube was discovered at the baggage area assigned to American Airlines.

According to FOX45, "The inert rocket launch tube, empty of any explosive hazard and inspected by the U.S. military for safety, was brought back on a military flight by a United States Air Force Sergeant as a souvenir of their service abroad."

While the launch tube has seemingly been deemed un-harmful, the Office of the State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad has taken it into their custody until they confirm that it can be returned to the Sergeant who was bringing it home as a military souvenir. The qualm around the launch tube is that "there is a slight chance that it could contain pressurized gas."

This is the second launch tube in two days that has been recovered at BWI.
