Before performing a headlining show at the Fillmore Silver Spring on Thursday, March 21, Walker Hayes joined us for an acoustic performance in our studios with a handful of lucky WPOC listeners who won their way into the room!
He performed 4 songs: "You Broke Up With Me," "90s Country," "Your Girlfriend Does" a new track titled "Don't Let Her" and gave us a special treat with a section of the 15-minute version of The Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" (courtesy of some *encouragement* from our audience 😂), which is about 8 minutes into the performance above! Between songs, Walker shared the story behind where the inspiration from each track came from and gave several nods to songwriter & producer Shane McAnally, the man who helped him get his start in Nashville.
