Day 1 of our 2018 St. Jude Radiothon was a huge success!
After 13 hours on December 13, we were able to raise $151,023 for the children of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital...and we still have another 13 hours to go on day 2!
The morning kicked off with delicious bagels from THB and Laurie DeYoung bringing in a special guest. She spoke with Joe Noel, a representative from AutoBell Carwash, who presented WPOC with a check for $1,000 and provided five people who became Partners In Hope during the 9AM hour with a $50 gift card to AutoBell Carwash!
Bob Delmont then had the chance to speak with Jim McDonough & Shelly Nislein, the General Manager and HR Director from ARS Rescue Rooter as they provided us with a check for $250 towards our Radiothon (and they have raised over $250,000 for St. Jude this year!).
We also got to talk with Eric Schmider, the General Manager of Blue Dot, which provides professional air conditioning, heating and SmartHome services. They graciously donated $250 to our Radiothon!
Melissa Zaba and Ryan Williams from Skyzone Timonium also stopped by the studios to contribute to our radiothon! They are the Community Outreach Manager and Owner respectively and donated $300 to our total!
Huzzah!! We also had a royal visit today from our friends at Medieval Times as they joined Michael J in the studios and then went over to their Medieval Times Phone Bank to help answer your calls and register listeners from across the Baltimore area to become Partners In Hope!
We also feasted on Papa John's for dinner and Original Giorgio’s in Cockeysville for lunch!
At the end of the day, we were able to raise $151,092 for St. Jude and we can't wait to see what day 2 will bring us!
