Staff Sergeant Heather Denby

Staff Sergeant Heather Denby serves as a public affairs instructor at the Defense Information School (DINFOS) on Fort Meade. The California native joined the Army to test her mettle after graduating from Edison High School in Huntington Beach. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Ashford University. She has deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and has served in the Army for 11 years.

She is a master instructor, fitness trainer, and resilience coach. She was recognized as the U.S. Army Pacific Journalist of the Year in 2016 and recently named DINFOS Warrior of the Quarter. Staff Sergeant Denby and her husband, Staff Sergeant Joshua Denby, live in Glen Burnie with their two children. She is finishing instructor duty and will be headed to Schofield

Barracks in Hawaii to support the 25th Infantry Division.
