Chrissy was so excited to find out she was pregnant. Then, six months in, she was told she wasn't just having one child, but two. One of her babies, Sienna, was so tiny that previous scans completely missed her.
Sienna and Sierra were born premature at 34 weeks. Sierra looked strong and healthy, just like a normal newborn. But Sienna looked different. She had a giant head and translucent skin. Chrissy even said Sienna resembled an alien. Sienna was so tiny, weighing in at just over a pound, that Chrissy could fit her wedding ring around her entire arm.
Doctors told the new mom that Sienna only had a 10 percent chance of survival. But that didn't stop Chrissy and the doctors from fighting to keep her around.
After 108 days in the NICU, Sienna went home to be with her family. Six years later, doctors finally diagnosed her with a disorder that is so rare only a few hundred people in the world have it.
