Amazon's Alexa just got a serious attitude upgrade with a new adults-only "Sassy" mode that roasts users, drops the occasional swear word, and operates on the motto "help first, judge always." To turn it on, users have to pass security checks in the Alexa app, including a Face ID scan on iPhones, and it's completely blocked when Amazon Kids mode is active, so no accidental sass for the little ones. The Internet is already having a field day with it, with social media users sharing videos of Alexa judging their grocery lists, lecturing them for asking the same question twice, and generally acting like that one brutally honest friend nobody asked for. Despite the edgy new persona, Amazon assures that guardrails are still in place, no explicit sexual content, hate speech, or harmful material, so it's all snark, no real harm!
