Emily Emerick, Executive Director of Ladew Topiary Gardens

Emily has been the Executive Director of Ladew Topiary Gardens for more than 21 years, during which time she has overseen the creation of the native Butterfly House; restoration of four of Ladew’s historic garden rooms; historic restorations of the Drawing Room, Primary Bedroom, Oval Library, Kitchen and Tea House; and enhancements to the Nature Walk. During her tenure Ladew has had a significant expansion of programming to meet the interests and needs of close to 50,000 visitors annually and three-fold growth in organizational budget. 

Emily came to Ladew following a career in fundraising for a variety of nonprofits in Baltimore and Washington. A Maryland native, Emily grew up in the Baltimore suburbs and now lives in Monkton with her husband David, four dogs and her very own ever-expanding gardens.
