There have been some rumors flying around over the last couple months that Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) may be considering a visit to the country world. And why not? With the success of people like Jelly Roll, Beyonce and Post Malone, it makes sense. MGK showed up at CMA Fest for a surprise performance, which further fueled some of the rumors.
Then last week he announced that he had a song coming featuring Jelly Roll. It seemed the move was all but confirmed. But, what does an MGK country song sound like? We finally have our answer.
Now, I'll say it's loosely 'country.' The new song 'Lonely Road' has country, hip hop and alternative vibes. It uses the John Denver classic 'Take Me Home Country Roads' for it's basic harmony and then expands on that theme. I'm absolutely loving this song.
