Kids Read Holiday Stories At Shelter To Help Get Dogs Adopted

'Tis the season!

The Humane Society of Missouri's "Deck the Howls" event was another success last week when kids came in to help dogs waiting to be adopted feel more comfortable b reading them stories! All year round, kids take part in the organization's Shelter Buddies Reading Program, where they read books to dogs outside their kennels to help dogs reduce their anxiety. But the very special "Deck the Howls" event takes place around the holidays where kids come in to read holiday stories dressed in their favorite pajamas by candlelight. The shelter has said the average stay of a dog in the shelter has decreased by 6 days since the program launched!

We're definitely feeling the love!
