More than Grammy Awards or platinum albums, sometimes friendship is greater to motivate creativity, serving as its own momentum. Such is the case for how the harmonically buoyant, impossibly lush acoustic rock-country of Gone West came to be. Whether the self-declaratory “Gone West,” where the foursome draw on their lives and the lives of the people they love for inspiration, or the sweeping love that’s not over, but has been squandered in “What Could’ve Been” with its back-and-forth lead vocals, Gone West is mapping a more evolved take on how people really inhabit their lives. Nuance rises, and truth is explored.

Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland in a musical family, Emma White was named after country legend Emmylou Harris. Taking after her songwriter mother, she began writing songs at an early age, blending the music she grew up listening to - a mix of pop, country and R&B. Her musical prowess has led to opening spots for Brad Paisley and Rodney Atkins (among others) and National Anthem performances at Staples Center (LA Lakers), M&T Bank Stadium and Camden Yards. The "indie Taylor Swift" (Atwood Magazine), BMI said of White, her "pop savvy vocal and sugary groove ooze unabashed hope and undeniable promise."
