Shockingly Brave Marine May Be Awarded the Medal of Honor

24-year old Marine William Kyle Carpenter may be given our nation's highest honor, the Medal of Honor, for his acts of bravery and heroism in Afghanistan.

Carpenter was on a rooftop with fellow soldier Lance Cpl. Nicholas Eufrazio when he jumped on top of a grenade, sacrificing himself to shield his fellow soldier from the blast.

Carpenter sustained extreme injuries, but has managed to pull through and survive. He lost his right eye, most of his teeth, and he shattered his jaw and an arm.

His bravery and strength are truly out of this world. More details on this incredible story are here.
