The CMA Nominees are out and I'm thinking it's going to be a huge year for Luke Bryan. I figured I'd share with you some of my predictions of who will be taking home a statue or two.
ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR
Luke should take this one easily. Especially since Jason Aldean was snubbed big time. Aldean would have been Luke's only real competition here. I could see the CMA's giving it to George one more time just because he finished his final tour this year, but I still think Luke takes it home.
MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR
Pretty sure Luke will win this one as well. Dierks had a pretty big year but still nothing compared to what Luke put together. The other 3 in this category are just filler in y opinion. None even came close to what Luke did.
FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR
Seeing as though Miranda is the only artist here that actually put out a new record (that anyone listened to), I think it's save to say Miranda wins this award...again.
ALBUM OF THE YEAR
Crash My Party - Luke Bryan
Fuse - Keith Urban
Platinum - Miranda Lambert
Riser - Dierks Bentley
The Outsiders - Eric Church
I'm thinking Luke Bryan will win this one as well. I'm pretty sure his album sold more than the rest of the nominees combined. Personally, Dierks' album is the best of the group, but it won't get the recognition from the CMA folks.
VOCAL GROUP OF THE YEAR
Eli Young Band
Little Big Town
The Band Perry
Zac Brown Band
EYB are the only group to actually put out a new album within the last year so I think they should get it. If they don't, there's obviously some kind of bias in the voting.
MUSICAL EVENT OF THE YEAR
"Meanwhile Back At Mama's" - Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
"Somethin' Bad" - Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood
"We Were Us" - Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert
"You Can't Make Old Friends" - Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton
"Bakersfield" - Vince Gill and Paul Franklin
I have to go with Keith and Miranda on this one. That song was a monster hit. But, the CMA's seem to have something against Keith Urban so I'm not sure. They could surprise everyone and give it to Tim and Faith just because it's the first time anyone's heard from Faith Hill for a while. I'd still like to think Keith and Miranda take it home.
NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR
Cole sold a ton of records but Thomas and Brett had more hits. I think it's a toss up between those two. I like Brett more so I'm picking him.
SINGLE OF THE YEAR
Drunk On A Plane
Give Me Back My Hometown
Meanwhile Back At Mama's
Mine Would Be You
I LOVE Drunk On A Plane. It's fun, catchy and upbeat. But I think Eric Church wins.
SONG OF THE YEAR (Goes to the songwriters)
Follow Your Arrow
Give Me Back My Hometown
I Don't Dance
I Hold On
If this were next year, I'd say I Don't Dance had a chance but I think it's too new to win this year. Follow Your Arrow is my pick.
